The first meetup: monorepo versus multirepo, Web2 versus Web3

The evening HayDevClub started with: two talks about how we structure the systems we build, and a long conversation afterwards at SPOT Bar in Yerevan.

The first meetup: monorepo versus multirepo, Web2 versus Web3

The first evening was an experiment: two talks, one room, and no idea how many people would actually come. Enough did that the conversation after the second talk ran longer than both talks together, which is the outcome we were hoping for.

Alexandr took the question everyone has already argued about at least once—one repository or many—and made it concrete: not “which is better”, but where exactly the cost shows up, and what you are really buying when you split.

Artyom took a bigger and vaguer one. “Web2 versus Web3” is the kind of title that usually means a pitch; this one did not. The interesting part turned out to be what does not change when the data moves, and who ends up holding it anyway.

Then the room stopped being an audience and became a group of people talking, which is the part the talks were an excuse for.
